Julien Fargetton & Benjamin Frick
The artist-duo casts a curious eye on the world, searching for the origins of things, even if this means changing their destiny. Their interests focus on the simple, overseen elements – the nearby habits and spaces. In so, they drift serendipitously to unexpected horizons, revealing the hidden poetry and aesthetics in the raw and banal. In their drawings, sculptures, inventions and performative actions, they walk turn-by-turn in the footsteps of explorers, inventors, musicians and anthropologists. Julien Fargetton and Benjamin Frick met in 2017 during a project in Lisbon. Since then, their lives, interests and projects have kept intertangling.
