Julien Fargetton & Benjamin Frick → Kernerviertel ↗︎
withThe Fühlerskop is a handmade recording device for exploring the urban. Different recording modes allow access to spheres otherwise closed to us, such as vibrations, magnetic waves, movements, textures and density. Invisible, inaudible or neglected elements become compositions, forgotten spaces from everyday life the center of our attention. From our habit of hastily consuming the big picture, the Fühlerskop trains us to slow down and explore microscopic sounds. The Fühlerskop captures even the quietest, supposedly inaudible sounds otherwise lost in the hustle and bustle of the city. It opens doors to spheres otherwise closed to us–as can be experienced live in the sound performance at the Stuttgart 21 construction site. The focus is not on the obvious, permanent noise–rather on the amplification of the hidden, small-scale.
Fühlerskop is an invitation to explore anew what is already known.
